Wet pour safety surfacing combines rubber granules with flexible binders to create a durable bound surface that offers protection against injuries that could occur from a trip or fall. Wet pour compromises of two layers: a base layer that utilises recycled SBR rubber granules, and a top layer of coloured EPDM rubber granules. Both will be bound using a flexible, single part, moisture curing polyurethane binder. Additional products can be applied to enhance durability, slip resistance and/or to determine permeability.
All wet pour solutions are suitable for installation directly on to concrete and asphalt substrates, whilst the outdoor version can also be installed over compacted MOT type 1 stone. The extensive range of colours available enable bold and vibrant finishes to be created, that often include bespoke graphics that allow the surface to complement the overall design theme of the play space and play equipment. This makes for exciting and stimulating surface for children’s playgrounds
